There is no noise from upstairs. Here on the 1st floor life is easier despite the noise. That said i like to think that being so close to the street and in easy view of onlookers discourages cat burglars. First floor apartments may be easier to break into since the windows are at street level.

Since his place is located on the first floor and comes with a decent sized yard with foliage he tells me he has a problem with heavy mosquito infestation on top of that the interior of the house is extremely humid especially during summer told me he could smell mildew. I really disagree that a first floor apt is more difficult to sell than a 6th floor walk up. Seriously you don t like the ground floor.

I lived in a place on the first floor below an elephant on the 2nd floor that stomped all day long 4am midnight. The best is a raised 1st floor with no neighbors under you imo still get good natural light no people peeking in your windows easily since they re above eye level you can walk around as late as you want without worrying about pissing off anyone living below you moving and bringing in groceries is a breeze with so few stairs. You may have a bum leg or some other condition that makes stairs a pain. If you re the type who enjoys frequent trips to the supermarket but doesn t like the added exercise of lugging your purchases to the top floor the ground floor might be the best choice.
